I'm not choosing calm or success this year!

I've done this for many years now, selecting a word that will keep me on track for the year.

If you saw my insta post recently you'd have seen how I was thinking of CALM or SUCCESS as a word, but then it came to me and I've gone ahead and chosen RISE.  I felt like calm didn't sound motivating and success was too far the other way and would have felt like I was putting pressure on myself.  So, why RISE? Because I'm ready to rise up as an artist, to be represented in galleries, to rise up in my knowledge in both personal and business life, being open to learning and discovering more.

Last year I chose JOY and it played a huge part in 2024 through my artwork that I created.  I hadn't realised just how much until I looked back on my year that the exhibitions and collections from 2024 were mainly based around JOY.  I wanted to focus on the small glimmers of joy that appear in the day more. Reflecting back it was a good word choice and one that I kept referring back to throughout the year.
